Recycling and waste collections are changing.

From Monday 3 June 2024, we are introducing changes to recycling and waste collections, including new containers and weekly collections for your recyclable materials.

These changes will make it easier for you to recycle more from home, help to improve the quality of the recycling we collect and reduce the impact of waste collections on our environment.

Non-recyclable waste collections will change to every 4 weeks for households on the wheelie bin service (every week for households on the bag service).

Trolibocs

We will deliver your new containers between 23 February and 17 May 2024. You will receive an information pack along with your new containers which will be in the top box. This will explain the changes in more detail, what goes where and how you should present your containers on your collection day.

Frequently Asked Questions about changes to recycling and waste collections.

A stackable system: Introducing the Trolibocs

The most reliable method to achieve high-quality recycling is to ensure materials like paper and glass are collected separately at the kerbside. To do this efficiently, we are introducing the Trolibocs - a system of stackable boxes for households to present most of their recyclables every week (available to all households on the wheelie bin service).

Households on the wheelie bin service will also receive a blue reusable bag for cardboard recycling.
