There are 37 city, town and community councils in Denbighshire, made up of 377 elected councillors. City, town and community council elections are held every 5 years, on the same day as county council elections.

Voting

To vote in a local council election in Wales you must be registered to vote, 16 years or over on polling day and also be one of the following:

  • a British citizen
  • an Irish or EU citizen living in the UK
  • a Commonwealth citizen who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, or who does not need permission
  • a citizen of another country living in Wales or Scotland who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, or who does not need permission; and
  • not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote
