Rhyl Regeneration: Edward Henry Street

Plans for Edward Henry Street involve the development of modern family housing, in lieu of disused flats not appropriate for modern living and which no longer meet the needs of the local population or the area which is saturated with similar flat style accommodation.

This scheme is located in the heart of Rhyl and will meet the needs of families in the local area. The type of housing offered will respond to the demands of families seeking good quality homes, particularly those wishing to remain or move to the area.

The aim is to create a modern, well equipped housing scheme that is sensitive to the local context, character and conservation area, whilst meeting a range of differing housing needs. The new homes will respond to the Victorian scale and appearance, and be attractive and energy efficient, encouraging ease of operation and convenient use.

Removal of sub-standard housing stock and the sensitive rebuilding of the more architecturally significant property in Edward Henry Street will enhance the qualities of West Rhyl, provide better internal and external layouts with the possibility to introduce gardens, parking and waste storage facilities within the property curtilage.

Denbighshire County Council are currently working in partnership with Welsh Government and ClwydAlyn Housing (external website) who are leading on this project.
