Changes to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 (external website), mean that unauthorised encampments are now dealt with under the criminal offence of trespassing on land without consent.
The police may be able to take action where trespassers on your land have one or more vehicles. You can find out what the police can do on the North Wales Police website (external website).
It is the landowner's responsibility to take action when there is an encampment on private or 3rd party land.
We can only take action against encampments on council land.
